Civil Registry Dept. calls on persons with expired driver’s licenses to visit department.

GREAT BAY (DCOMM):--- Head of the Civil Registry Department Leona Romeo-Marlin would like to inform the general public that persons with expired driver's licenses can visit the department to schedule an appointment to renew their license.

Driver license holders should not wait until their licenses have expired to get them renewed. The department also no longer upholds the grace period of one-year for expired licenses.

Holders of licenses that were expired between 10-10-2011 and 17-02-2011 will be given the opportunity to renew their driver's license without having to re-sit the exam.

The following documents must be presented at the department for the further processing of the driver's license (holders of a license): valid Dutch passport or Identification Card and Non-Dutch Nationals, a valid foreign passport and a valid original residence permit; doctor's medical declaration; Naf. 10 stamp from Receiver's; original license (Police Report if license lost); one passport picture; Naf. 100; and exams costs Naf. 300.

Services for driver's licenses are by appointment only. All appointments must be honored and if the person misses the appointment it will be rescheduled. No exceptions will be given. Appointments can be made by calling 542-2457 ext. 412.
