Partnership Agreements Signed with Businesses as SEI Project Moves Forward.

seipartnershipagreementsigning25042012Philipsburg:--- SEI Project Manager Nikima Groeneveldt-Hickenson, signed two partnership agreements on Wednesday at the A.C. Wathey Legislative Hall on Wednesday in the presence of the Minister of Labour Cornelius de Weever, Secretary General Joireen Wuite, and Head of the Labour Department Peggy Ann Dros. The partnership agreements were signed with Raj Lala of Ballerina Jewelers, and Adesh Baharani of Joe's Jewelry. Hickenson told reporters on Wednesday that the SEI project was launched late 2011 and it focuses on job training for the unemployable and providing sustainable jobs for persons on welfare.
Hickenson said employability through training caters to Dutch nationals that are between the ages of 18 to 55. The focus she said is to provide theoretical and practical training to persons in various industries for the unskilled persons seeking employment. The six month program has been divided into four phases with assessment being first then training. Hickenson said the assessment phase has just been completed and they have 31 persons who they will be working with now out of the 250 persons participating comprising of five males and twenty six females between the ages of 18 and 55.
