
However, the decision to choose the deputy for St. Martin and St. Barths was taken by the voters on St. Barths. While there are 4,881 registered voters on that island, 1,508 (77.21%) voters cast their ballot on Saturday, of that amount, 1111 (77.21%) voted for Daniel Gibbs and his replacement Karine Miot Richards while 328 (22.79%) voted in favor of Guillaume Arnell and his replacement Ines Bouchaut Choisy.
After the overall votes were tallied it clearly showed that Daniel Gibbs emerged winner of the election based on the voters on St. Barths and not those on St. Martin. Gibbs received 4108 (52.29%) votes while Guillaume Arnell received 3748 (47.71%).
