Isaac took Light Post and Damaged Ceiling in Minister’s Office.

fallenelectricitypost23082012Philipsburg:--- Tropical storm Isaac which passed close to St. Maarten during the early hours of Thursday morning left its footprints on at least two locations. An electrical post belonging to GEBE fell sometime Thursday morning on Bishop Hill Road. The post was seen lying across the road blocking traffic from both directions. There were a number of live wires on the post. An employee of GEBE told SMN News that the post had wires belonging to other companies and they are not the only ones responsible for the post. The GEBE employee also stated that the post fell down by itself after the passing of tropical storm Isaac.

Minister's Office Ceiling in Bad Shape.

romeopantophletsofficeceiling23082012The department of VROMI was called to conduct repairs at the government administration building on Thursday morning.

According to information provided to SMN News, the ceiling of the office of the Minister of Tourism and Economic Affairs suffered minor damage and water leakage during the passing of tropical storm Isaac. SMN News reporter was on hand to snap a photo of the damage done to the Minister's office. It should be noted that the Minister Pantophlet could not occupy his office immediately after he was sworn-in because the office was contaminated with mold. It is not clear if the workers of VROMI did any repairs to the ceiling while repairing and repainting the Minister's office. Minister Pantophlet could not be reached on Thursday for a comment regarding his office.
