DP and NA hold final meetings on Wednesday.

PHILIPSBURG:--- The final push for political parties on St. Maarten took place on Wednesday August 27th, 2014. The Democratic Party held its meeting in Simpson Bay while the National Alliance hosted their final meeting live on Cable TV in St Peters. The DP headed by Prime Minister Sarah Wescot Williams presented its plans and aspirations for country St. Maarten. The headquarters will be at the Bute Hotel on the Illidge road and supporters are asked to come as volunteers are needed. MP Roy Marlin in his presentation to the party supporters stated that the CEO of the Harbour Group of Companies Mark Mingo donated $10,000 on behalf of the Harbour for plane tickets for United Peoples Party supporters to come and vote in the August 29th, Parliamentary Elections. The MP says that Mingo is using his power as the CEO of the government owned company as a political pawn for the UP. Meanwhile the National Alliance Leader William Marlin stated in his address that if there is a UPP government they will last for 4 months instead of 4 years because of the different cases hanging over several candidates.
