Farewell reception for Chief Prosecutor David van Delft.

davidvandelft18052014RINCON, Bonaire:--- The Public Prosecutor's Office bid farewell on Friday May 16th, 2014 to David van Delft. The reception took place in the 'Mangazina di Rei'. Van Delft officially stepped down as Chief Prosecutor of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba (BES).
David van Delft was in the 90's for a period of four years Public Prosecutor in Curaçao. In 2007 he returned to the former Netherlands Antilles as a prosecutor and 'Head of Mission' (Chef de poste) on Bonaire and, since the transition on 10-10-10, Chief Public Prosecutor of the BES-islands. Under his leadership, the OM BES formed a new organization with offices on three islands, it should be noted that these offices are 900 kilometers apart. David van Delft literally built up the OM BES. The organization stands, and is now a solid foundation on which to further be built by his successor.
Several people addressed Van Delft on Friday, including Attorney General Guus Schram, Chief of Police for the BES-islands Hildegard Buitink, and newsreporter for Extra Boi Antoin and former Lieutenant-governor Glenn Thodé.
David Van Delft will be succeeded July 1 2014 by Henry Hambeukers. Mr. Hambeukers been since August 1, 2013 Prosecutor at the Prosecutor's Office of Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba (BES).
