MP Richardson sends Letter to Parliament Questioning Possible Investment by SZV.

PHILIPSBURG:--- Information reaching SMN News states that SZV is expected to put up close to two hundred million dollars to be precise some $180 million dollars this Friday when the agreement for Medical Tourism is signed. According to well placed sources, Dr. Hess and his group will be signing the agreement this Friday which would benefit the Wathey families since the Medical Tourism Hospital will be built on their property in Simpson Bay in the vicinity of Kim Sha Beach. A letter signed by Member of Parliament Frans Richardson was dispatched to the chairlady of Parliament on May 20th, 2014, MP Richardson is asking the chairlady to verify whether or not SZV intends to make such investments.
The information provided to SMN News showed that SZV will be the main guarantor for the project, or act as a third party for the project. While SZV has chosen to undertake this project it was already indicated that SZV will go bankrupt in the next three years if it is not properly managed. This statement was made by the former director of SZV.
Member of Parliament Frans Richardson dispatched a letter to the President of Parliament seeking clarification as to whether or not SZV will undertake or has intentions to act as a sponsor or guarantor for SMMC or any other project. The letter sent by MP Richardson to the President of Parliament is to have the Minister of VSA inform Parliament on this development.
MP Richardson cautioned that SZV is the only guarantor to quality health care on St. Maarten while it is the last resort for several insurers, therefore extreme caution should be exercised in any venture that would endanger the financial stability of the country's national resource. Already the Minister of VSA has been invited to Parliament regarding the undertakings of SZV, it is not yet clear when that meeting will be called by the chairlady of Parliament.
