ST. MAARTEN AIRPORT NAMED SECOND MOST STUNNING AIRPORT APPROACH IN THE WORLD BY PRIVATEFLY.COM.

planeapproachingpjiae21052014PHILIPSBURG:--- St. Maarten's Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) has been named the second most stunning airport approach by travel fans around the world in PrivateFly.com's recent Airport Approaches Survey.
The Airport Approaches Survey was conducted throughout March 2014 on PrivateFly.com, the leading online booking platform for private aviation charters. SXM airport was selected from a group of airports chosen by a panel of high-profile travel industry experts with travel enthusiasts voting for their favorites. Nearly 5,000 travel fans voted in the poll, with over 200 different airports receiving nominations.
"We are incredibly proud of our airport in St. Maarten and appreciate that travelers from around the globe enjoy the one-of-a-kind view that passengers flying into our island are afforded," said Edward Dest, interim director of tourism for the St. Maarten Tourist Bureau. "After earning the top spot in the 2013 PrivateFly.com poll, we're thrilled to remain in the top two in 2014 and encourage those who haven't yet visited St. Maarten to come and experience the breathtaking approach, and of course, our entire island," he added.
SXM airport, located on the scenic shores of Maho Beach, offers passengers on incoming flights breathtaking views of turquoise waters and white sand beaches, while on-island spectators get a unique view of low-flying incoming planes that frequent Maho Beach daily.
