PHILIPSBURG:--- Boogaard Insurances (former N.C. Wathey Insurance Services) on Friday officially opened its new office at Professional Office Park in a celebratory atmosphere and with a goal of improving its services for its growing clientele base in St. Maarten.
The company has been serving clients at its new location for some three months now since its rebranding from N.C. Wathey Insurances to Boogaard Insurances.
Boogaard General Manager Rajiv Bhatia said, the Boogaard brand with its experience and strength can provide the same customer satisfaction as NCW has provided and even better with the new relocation to a "vastly improved and elegant office" and with the same team that has served them for so many years.
"Our new office in many ways reflects our style, a style that enhances our service and a style that reflects professionalism and gives you a pleasant feeling about being with us," he said. "After all service is all about the feeling of being in good hands. That's why our company's motto is: Services with a personal touch."
Chairman, Jan Boogaard started his career in insurance as an inspector at Delta Lloyd in life insurance. After three years of experience, he came to the conclusion that he could do a great job as an independent Broker. In 1978 he started Boogaard Assurantien BV with no staff and no portfolio, but with hard work he produced great results. In January 2009 he bought the companies from Jan Hein Braam, Managing Director of N.C. Wathey Insurance Services and Caribbean Insurance Brokers. With this the Boogaard Company became one of the largest independent Caribbean based brokers. "Today he has a big team of about 300 employees behind him," Bhatia told guests on Friday.
The Boogaard group has offices in St. Maarten, Aruba, Curacao, Bonaire, Anguilla and the Netherlands.
The St. Maarten Boogaard operations are run by General Manager Rajiv Bhatia, Senior Insurance & Sales Consultant Marc Groeneveld, Robert De Vries, Project Manager Anouk Rozemeijer, and front office representatives Sylvia Jongbloed, Tanja Saridjojo, Sylvie Maccow, Ingrid Barry, and Elma Hodge.
