Continuation Urgent Plenary Session of Parliament regarding the status of the schools for the school year 2018/2019 & the state of sports and arts facilities and programs.

PHILIPSBURG:--- The House of Parliament will sit in an Urgent Plenary Public meeting on Friday, November 9, 2018.

The Urgent Plenary Public meeting which was adjourned on October 11, 2018, will be reconvened on Friday, November 9 at 15.00 hrs. in the General Assembly Chamber of the House at Wilhelminastraat #1 in Philipsburg. The Minister of Education, Culture, Youth, and Sport will be present for this meeting.

The agenda points are:
1. Status of the schools for the school year 2018/2019, particularly the shortage of teachers, preparedness for the 2018 hurricane season, the safety Emergency Management Committee and the Emergency Guidelines for schools, the School Bus Policy, and the Implementation Plan

2. The state of sports and arts facilities and programs in Sint Maarten (IS/872/2017-2018 dated August 22, 2018)

Members of the public are invited to the House of Parliament to attend parliamentary deliberations.

The House of Parliament is located across from the Court House in Philipsburg.
