PHILIPSBURG:---On December 5th, 2018 two representatives of the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine visited the Mental Health Foundation.
During a tour around the facility, they had the opportunity to meet with the staff and learn about the variety of services provided to the community on St. Maarten as well as neighboring islands.
Dr. Kim Kirkland and Keith Evashevski, Psy.D expressed their appreciation for the work of the Mental Health Foundation, and their willingness to collaborate on future projects.
For AUC students, doing an internship or volunteering could provide them valuable experience within the field of their expertise, while simultaneously contributing to the St. Maarten society. The Mental Health Foundation, which currently operates understaffed and under-resourced, is happy with this initiative as there is much to be gained by collaboration for both organisations.
