PHILIPSBURG:--- As part of their training on Thursday the 17th of January 2019 class 2 of the Basic Police training was given the task to organize and execute two traffic controls. These controls took place between the hours of 09.00 a.m. and 04.00 p.m. The first control was held on Octavius Richardson Boulevard (Belair) next to the tennis court and the second one was held on the Walter Nisbeth road across Blue Point. During these controls, 150 vehicles were controlled and 60 fines were issued.
The main focus of these control was to enforce that drivers must wear their seatbelt while operating their vehicle along with the overall safety while using public roads.
