PHILIPSBURG:--- Detectives are presently investigating a case of ill-treatment with a weapon which took place on Tuesday May 14th at approximately 10.00 p.m. on the Welfare road in the vicinity of Peiking Supermarket. An argument between two men which escalated in the fight resulted in one of men stabbing the other with a knife. The victim was treated on the scene and then taken to the Sint Maarten Medical Center for further medical treatment and has been admitted to hospital for observation. The suspect identified with initials E.F.R. was arrested on the scene shortly after. He was taken to the police headquarters where he remains in custody for questioning and further investigation.
