Four members pinned as Paul Harris Fellows.

paulharris16072019PHILIPSBURG:---  On June 23, 2019, during the Change of Board ceremony of the Rotary Club of St. Martin Sunset, four members were given the distinction of being pinned as Paul Harris Fellows. Rotarians Sherbert Arrindell, Magdiona Gumbs, Norrisa Anatol and Stuart Johnson in the presence of Assistant District Governor, Marcellia Henry, and President Jaida Nisbett were awarded certificates and the Paul Harris pin.
The Paul Harris Fellow recognition acknowledges individuals who contribute, or who have contributions made in their name, of $1,000 to The Rotary Foundation. Rotary established the recognition in 1957 to encourage and show appreciation for substantial contributions to the foundation. The number of Paul Harris Fellows reached the 1 million mark in 2006.
In March 2019, District Governor Patrick Adizua began a donors matching program, whereby he encouraged members throughout the district to pledge half of the contribution, whereby district would’ve matched the rest. Many Rotarians throughout the district were able to make full use of the program and were awarded Paul Harris Fellow Recognition. Moving forward, members can make continuous contributions to the foundation, which will make them eligible to be inducted into the Paul Harris Society. The Paul Harris Society comprises of Rotarians who contribute $1,000 every year to the foundation.
The Rotary club of St. Martin Sunset would like to congratulate all Paul Harris Fellow members and would like to continue encouraging all other members to pledge to the cause.
