K1 encourages the community to participate in 6th Annual Christmas Angels Program.

k1xmasangels09122019PHILIPSBURG:--- K1 Britannia Foundation will be hosting it’s 6th Annual Christmas Angels Program from December 13th to December 16th, 2019. The program supports vulnerable groups and local organizations during the holiday season. K1 initiated the Christmas Angels program six years ago and has seen the local community come out year after year to make Christmas special and memorable for a child, teenager or elderly.

This year K1 continues the tradition to spread compassion throughout the island of St. Maarten. A Christmas tree, located at the Government of St. Maarten Administration Building, will be filled with hundreds of little angels which were all hand made with love by the program’s recipients.

The angels represent a foster child, a Sister Basilia Center client, an elderly person of White and Yellow Cross Foundation, a Mental Health Foundation client, a Ujima Foundation member, a child at Player Development SXM or other underprivileged children from other participating organizations. Persons can pass by, choose a special angel, buy a present for the child or elder it represents, and in return, get to keep the little angel as a gift from that person.
Christmas Angels Program Manager Chiaira Bowers added “The K1 Britannia Christmas Angels Program is a great way that families can create a tradition that bonds them together. Participation embodies the meaning of Christmas, which is giving and showing love. Knowing that every year, you can come to the Christmas tree, pick an angel, get a gift and return home with a Christmas angel is a great feeling.
Throughout the years, you can build your Christmas tree decorations with all the handmade angels you’ve picked, representing a child or elder that you’ve touched. Seeing all the Christmas angels hung up during the season is sure to bring a sense of happiness and genuine joy for being able to bless someone else’s life.”
K1 and its volunteers will be at the Government Administration Building on Pond Island from Friday, December 13, to Monday, December 16, from 9:00am to 6:00pm. You can stop by to choose your angel, and return a gift during these hours.
K1 Britannia Foundation focuses on a variety of charitable projects on the island. Their main projects over the last few years have been primarily focused on disaster relief, rehabilitating at-risk, vulnerable & troubled youth and helping children in foster care through a variety of programs, including the annual Christmas Angels.

K1 Britannia Foundation believes that it is in giving that we receive. Join the program this Christmas and feel the impact one single act can have on another child or elder.
