Marina is human just like anyone else. She was a hard worker. All this and she will still get back a job back in government. Look former officer-convict F.P. was suspended after he took monies from illegals for their release. It was big news at the time. Now he is working with the island government control unit doing controls, stopping vehicles for inspection and other controls. This makes what Marina did look like chicken feed. Marina, ask for a job by island government. if F.P. can get a job there, so can you.

you should stop of one sunday at the training of the vks and you would see they teach you discipline and every sunday the comandant say a pray for them and warned them not to get in these type of mix up. the vks is a very good organization it's just that they been working so long with the police that some of them starting to think like them , it don't mean that they think the are police just they have to perform the same work as the police do unless you all want curacoa to come back and then the vks can go back to there normal day to day living. i stand on sundays and look on. so this sunday come and look how hard they trained.and ask your self if these guys was cops how the police force would have been.

yeah yeah as was said VKS them should know their place and stop trying to be police these days anyone that can drive fast and know how to work a sirene can become a police , so let them wanna be cops go and take the test as their country needs them. It is so easy for the slected uneducated individuals to sit here and bash the VKS organization because 1 person fouled up. Yes what she did if proven is wrong and she should be dealt with. However, the fact is as a VKS member you are asked to assist in certain areas and presently the organization assist with the Police and prison institution. Now one point i want to make is that for you we are wanna be cops, but as i say it easy to sit behind your computer and watch crime take over your island and not care. If my assistants to the police force helps get 1 person off the road that does not need to be there , or come to your assistants when u and your wife or mother and father cant agree then i feel like i did my part after 8 hours. within that 8 hours what did you do other than kick people when they down or just simply sit and act like crime dont bother you. If your mind allows you to sleep at night with that type of attitude then carry on, however i will continue to do what i can to help my island of St. Maarten. Thats why i joined.

I am so ashame with this ariticle, why do we have to pin point that she is from Dominica, please if anyone know Marina, the girl been on St. Maarten since she was a baby, she did all her schooling and working on St. Maarten. She did not get naturilalized the other day, the girl became a Dutch citizen since she was a young girl. Now what she did is wrong and she should be penalized for it, but to those ignorant people, the VKS should not be penalized. While these men and woman out there helping our police fight crime and instore justice on the island, What are you doing?, Are you out there fighting crime also, or are you running to a VKS when you see one for help and rescue. Like someone else pointed out there are other VKS officers who committed crimes (Barbie Doll) but I guess they were allowed to do it because they are a St. Maartener. And like someone menitioned before, we had police officers who committed fraud, involved in drug pushing and where are they now? Some employed with the traffic control department, some employed at the Fire Station and others are out and about in Government jobs. So please be people stop being bias to one and acceptable to others.

I must say it seems for a selected few persons to be able to sit and hide behind their computers and chat the nonsense that noone else wants to hear. You can look at it how you want, but jealousy is a bad thing. The VKS is an organization that at the end of the day been asked to assist the police organization. At the end of the day no matter how small of a crime we may have assisted in preventing, the fact is we did something. I sit here and ask, what did you do by sitting behind your computer talking about we want to be cops. The fact is crime is all over the island and atleast we were brave enough to put our lives and families in jepardy to help out where we can no matter how big or small. What did you do other than criticizing a positive effort. In everything you do you will always find those that will be sid tracked, however that does not prove that the entire organization is this way. Dont be blind and dumb. Your negative remarks will never break us, because at the end of the day, we have St. Maarten at heart, i wonder if you do.

It is very sad to learn that this vks's has gone on the bad side i used to see her and admire how she takes her job so seriuos and always certious when someone goes to the station with a problem. It is a bigger pity that the reporter choose to highlight that she was not born in St. Maarten but in Dominica. This lady mother actually concieved her here went Dominca to have her and bought her back when she was a baby. she did all her schooling here and choose to become a VKS's working without pay for many years giving back to her community. Now that she has done something wrong the journalist choose to go back in her history to hightight where she was born. If she had won an olymoic medal for St. Maarten would there be mentioned of where she was born. It is a shame that we Black people are so always quick to discrimate each other based on where we were born. They are no different to the white man that used to put us down many years ago just because of the colour of our skins. Shame on the bloggers for being discrimative. Is that how St. Maarten is gonna get its new status by discriminating each other no matter how long you have leaved on the sland and made your contributions. She had hard times maybe tomorrow she will come by a fortune and pay back double to those she took from. She was the right person for the job, but the job was not good to her. You need money, donations to raise a family. Some times people need help but are afraid to ask. On the OJ talk show everybody is complaining about the high cost of living, so why not try to understand her plight? The way things are going in sxm you never know where you might end up or what you might have to do to feed your family. Keep the faith! Think positive!

To Sherry, I am a born St. Maartener, the difference is that I am an educated St. Maartener, unlike many of you who sit there and discriminate or criticize a whole organization for the wrong doing of one member.
If you had any kind of good sense you and others would have blogged something sensible and not nonsense. It is a pity how many uneducated, slow, dumb and bias people we have living on my island, and guess what not all are illegals, most are "I BORN HERE" people.

I am sure if they could not drive the police cars and work in the station they will never become VKS I know of individuals that had a job / business (barber) gave up his job to work 24 hours there , thus VKS is a job placement center, what a shame.
