PHILIPSBURG:--- St. Maarten now has four telecommunication providers, the latest was issued in a Landsbesluit signed by Governor Holiday and published in the August 2014 National Gazette.
Currently St. Maarten has UTS, TelEm, Corporate Innovations and the one issued in July 2014 to Beach Mart NV, while the license that was granted to Eastern Caribbean Cellular (ECC) is also still in circulation.
SMN News learned that a prominent businessman and former Minister has the license from ECC and the holder of that license is busy negotiating with two French companies. One of the companies named is DIGICEL.
