Man Stabbed by GEBE Friday Afternoon.

stabbingbygebe05092014PHILIPSBURG:--- A man was stabbed on Friday afternoon in the vicinity of GEBE on Cannegieter Street. Information reaching SMN News states that two men of Dominicano descent were arguing and at some point one of them whipped out a knife and stabbed the other man. Eyewitnesses said that the victim was stabbed in his back causing him to fall down. One eyewitness told SMN News that when the victim fell the attacker tried to stab him multiple times in his torso but the victim kept kicking his attacker away. At some point the attacker decided to grab the victim's leg and began stabbing him there. The eyewitness said that it appeared as though one of the victim's arteries was cut because be bled profusely. The eyewitness further explained that when people began gathering at the scene and shouting at the attacker he then ran away.

The victim who was in critical condition was transported to the St. Maarten Medical Center for treatment. Police Spokesman Ricardo Henson confirmed that the stabbing did take place and that police are busy investigating. Henson said as soon as he has more information on the victim and suspect he will inform the media.

Man Seriously Stabbed.

On Friday September 5th, 2014 at approximately 3:55pm, several police patrols were directed to the main office of G.E.B.E. on the Walter Nisbeth road where it was reported that a stabbing had taken place and that the victim was seriously wounded and bleeding profusely. On the scene the investigating officers encountered a man with the initials R.D.C. (38) lying on the ground and who was indeed bleeding from several stab-wounds to his back and lower right leg. The victim was treated on the scene by paramedics and then transported to the Sint Maarten Medical Center for further treatment. The victim was stabilized but could not give a statement due to his condition. The Forensic Department was on the scene to collect evidence and the Detectives were speaking to witnesses. The suspect in the case still remains unknown and has not yet been arrested. The investigation is ongoing.
