Management Team of GEBE in Shambles, No CEO, No COO and now CFO in predicament.
PHILIPSBURG: --- The members of the management team of GEBE is planning to use the company's statuut to vote a motion of no confidence against the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Rene Gartner. That motion might come as early as today (Thursday) an insider at GEBE told SMN News.
The source said that none of the personnel could get along with Gartner and just recently he sent home the head of the finance department because he does not like or agrees with that person. The workers of GEBE are at lost because the management team of GEBE is in total shambles. They said that the company already do not have CEO in place and the Chief Operations Officer Romelio Maduro received his letter on Wednesday informing him that he has to be off the property by Friday. That letter was delivered to Maduro by two members of the board and even though they feel Maduro is an arrogant man he is a better person to work with in the interest of the company.
The insider said that Maduro was fully used by the UPP leader who made him hire a former journalist that is being paid $120.000.00 annually. The insider said that the deal to hire this journalist was settled at the Cigar lounge where Maduro used GEBE credit card on an open tab to pay for those that attended the meeting to hire the journalist. Apart from that Maduro was again used by the UPP leader to sign off a deal with a company in the Dominican Republic which they said will benefit the UPP leader.
The GEBE insider said that while the Supervisory Board is trying to manage GEBE they are also acting illegally since their role is to supervise and not manage the daily operations of the company. The source went as far as saying that while the supervisory board is using the use of the company's credit card and the hiring of the journalist to fire Maduro most of the board members used Maduro to use his credit card to purchase tickets for some of the major shows that were held during the 2015 Carnival. Besides that they said Maduro was even paying for the food and drinks for the chairman of the board and his family during the carnival season. "Yes we know Maduro is stupid to allow board members to set him up to fill their bellies up and attend big shows but at that time he was a good COO. Because of the hypocrisy involved one of the board member Kevin Bloyden is not in agreement with the decision taken by the supervisory board."
They also said that the board is spilt with the firing of Maduro because they personally believe that Maduro was used both by the leader of the UPP to hire a former journalist and to sign off on an MOU that will benefit Theodore Heyliger and some members of the supervisory board.
Besides that there is another issue brewing with the five consultants that GEBE hired and rented an office space above the Windward Island Bank, a building belonging to the former head of VROMI Joseph Dollison. It said that GEBE is using tax payers monies to pay a huge rent for that office space while GEBE has enough room at their main office that can accommodate the consultants that were hired.
They said that a Member of Parliament is even involved in the latest saga because he hired Curtis Haynes and other pensioners as special project consultant.
