PJIAE placed in a precarious position due to lack of Building Permit for FBO, and Fire Station.
AIRPORT:--- Management of the Princess Juliana International Airport (PJIAE) stands to lose its financial credibility if Prime Minister and Acting Minister of VROMI Marcel Gumbs along with the leader of the UPP Theodore Heyliger continues to stagnate the issuance of the building permits that were requested by PJIAE since November 2014.
Management of PJIAE signed agreements with Signature a multi-national FBO agency and locally based company TLC that is also an FBO professional. Based on information SMN News were provided with the agreements PJIAE signed will expire on June 15th 2015 and if the project cannot get off the ground by the time these agreements expired then PJIAE will lose its financial ratings internationally.
Another penalty PJIAE will face is for the bonds they received for the construction of the Cargo Facilities, the Fixed Based Operations and the Fire Station. According to well-placed sources PJAIE has $60M in bonds waiting to begin the construction of the projects they requested building permits for but the building permits are being held up by Acting Minister of VROMI Marcel Gumbs and his political boss Theodore Heyliger.
The Acting Minister and Prime Minister of St. Maarten Marcel Gumbs dispatched a letter to PJAIE early May 2015 asking for further information including how the bidding process were held. All information the Prime Minister Acting Minister of VROMI requested were provided to the Ministry on May 21st 2015; but to date the Acting Minister did not react on the information provided to him. Also including in the documents that were submitted to the Prime Minister are the receipts to show that PJIAE paid for the processing of the building permits and a letter of receipt they received from the Ministry of VROMI in November 2014 stating that they have received the requests in good order. "It is clear that the Prime Minister Marcel Gumbs is interfering in how the government owned company conducts its business when he asked for information on the bidding process. Even though it is clear that the Prime Minister and his political boss are holding up the process on purpose PJAIE submitted all documents relating to the bidding including receipts."
The source said they are wondering if St. Maarten is now being run by a "ku klux klan" that wants to dictate who gets work on the island. While the source did not name the persons they believe are part of the " ku klux klan" they said everyone on St. Maarten knows exactly who these persons are.
Last week SMN News published an article about the questions and documents the Prime Minister asked for in order to process the building permits. In that letter which was also published on SMN News the Prime Minister gave PJAIE three weeks to provide all the additional information he needs before he could process or grant the building permits especially for the Fixed Based Operations (FBO) projects.
