PHILIPSBURG:--- Leader of the United St. Maarten Party (USP) Frans Richardson confirmed to SMN News that his party submitted their documents to the Electoral Council on Monday. Leader of the United St. Maarten Party (USP) told SMN News that his documents were delayed because the accountant that were handling the accounting did not complete the accounting in order for the party to submit its information to the Electoral Council on time. Richardson who return to the island on Sunday from the IPKO meetings said when he was notified that the party was facing a deadline he took his information away from the accountant that had the job and gave it to another accountant so that it could be completed. Richardson said he was busy all morning on Monday with the accountant and the other members of the board of USP to ensure that all the necessary information was in proper order before it was submitted. SMN News received confirmation from the Electoral Council that the USP did submit a file to them which they will begin reviewing on Tuesday.
It is not clear if the USP paid the Naf. 3000.00 in fine on Monday or if they intend to make the payments at a later date.
