PHILIPSBURG:--- Trouble seems to be stirring up in the United People’s Party camp now that it is highly rumored that MP Tamara Leonard is working on forming her own political party which will be called the “Bush Tea Party.”
SMN News learnt that MP Leonard was called in by the UPP board to discuss any grievances the UPP Members of Parliament are having with the party and its leadership. A source close to the UPP said that each of the MP’s that were called in individually were asked what is their loyalty towards the UPP and when this question was posed to MP Tamara Leonard she lashed out that the board members whom she said does not want her to speak out. The source said when the UPP board members asked MP Leonard if she was working on forming her own political party she denied it but later told some of the board members that she is indeed working on forming her own political party.
SMN News contacted a board member of the UPP who confirmed that they met with the UPP Members of Parliament and each of them were asked the same question. The UPP board member said when MP Tamara Leonard was asked that question she got on very badly, but later apologized to the chairperson of the board.
Efforts made to reach MP Tamara Leonard on Tuesday proved futile as she is currently on vacation in the Dominican Republic with members of her family.
