Creditors still have hope and waiting for Project to kick off.
PHILIPSBURG:--- SMN News received information that the head of VROMI Louis Brown signed off on the building permit for the Fixed Based Operations (FBO) Project which is to be constructed at the Princess Juliana International Airport (PJIAE) some two weeks ago and sent it to the Office of the Prime Minister but to date the Prime Minister of St. Maarten did not sign off the document and return to VROMI.
A well-placed source said the department of VROMI did all that to be done after PJIAE submitted the additional documents that were requested by the Prime Minister but they do not know what is keeping the process back.
SMN News further learnt that the creditors that have to do business with PJIAE and the other stakeholders are still waiting on government to deliver the building permit so that construction of the project could begin.
Just recently PJIAE opened its renovated departure hall and mentioned was made about the FBO project which is part of the renovations that has to take place at PJAIE in order for the country’s international airport to meet the standards of the 21st century. However, the issuance of the building permit is indeed holding back the renovations t PJIAE.
