PHILIPSBURG:---- The 41 year old suspect identified as T.T. W. C that stabbed Miguelito Garcia who died in the Dominican Republic one day after he was sent there for further medical treatment will stay behind bars for the next 60 days as the police continues to investigate the fatal stabbing incident.
Prosecutor Karola Van Nie told SMN News that the suspect appeared before the judge of instruction on Monday where his pretrial detention was extended. The stabbing took place on July 6th 2015 while the victim succumbed to his injuries on July 7th 2015. Van Nie said the two women that were also arrested when the main suspect was arrested shortly after the stabbing incident were released. She did not say if the two women will be charged or if they will be called as witnesses. The press prosecutor said the suspect who has been identified as T.T. W.C is a native St. Maartener who has been charged with murder/manslaughter.
