Private sector asked to support the committee financially.
PHILIPSBURG:--- Former acting Minister of Justice Richard Gibson did not waste much time on his ideas of having a law school established on St. Maarten. Gibson told reporters on Wednesday that he appointed a committee comprising of six persons to work on a report on establishing a law school on St. Maarten. The committee members are Mavis Brooks Solomon, R.Groeneveld, R.J Arduin, Patricia Philips, Gaston Bell and Bob Wit. The committee has 90 days to submit a report on the establishing of a law school in St. Maarten. The Minister of Finance also made clear that the Government of St. Maarten does not have monies to finance the committee to conduct their work therefore he is reaching out to the private sector to provide the necessary funding to the committee.
