Be Change Foundation and Oranje Founds hosting 2nd annual volunteer initiative.

PHILIPSBURG:--- On March 11th and March 12th, The Be The Change Foundation in collaboration with the Oranje Fonds, will be hosting St. Maarten’s second annual national volunteer initiative, SXM DOET. Last year, the event was a huge success; 30 projects were completed with the help of over 900 volunteers.
This year SXM DOET is aiming for an even bigger turnout. So far, over 35 foundations, clubs, and schools throughout St. Maarten have signed up to complete various projects and odd jobs. They could not do this without the generous assistance from our island community.
Our foundation, National Institute of Arts (NIA) will be participating in SXM DOET with our project NIA Productions Black Box Theatre Project. The goal of the project is to equip, enhance and beautify the current performing space known as the Black Box Theatre located at the John Larmonie Center, Longwall road #20, to better cater to the needs and comfort of the performers and audience.
The desired result is to have an actual Black (painted) theatre space with stages and risers, sound and lights, shelving and a renewed wooden floor suitable for all performers.
We look forward to any possible assistance from our community!
If you’d like more information about the event, please do not hesitate to contact the SXM DOET coordinators at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or by phone at +1 (721) 580-1437 or NIA 524-0441/543-0600.
