NIA to present FY-Informance Saturday May 28 and Sunday May 29, 2016

niaperformance26052016PHILIPSBURG:--- The artistic year 2015-2016 has been quite the eventful year at the National Institute of Arts. After a successful and productive season on the the international arena, winning several gold medals at the French Federation in the dance category in St.Barths and France, and earning several Gold medals in Guadeloupe and medaling bronze in Martinique in gymnastic, NIA students are putting their culmination of hard work on display at their annual end of year presentation.

FYI-informances bring dialogue to the journey of artistic and athletic training. The word “Informance” is a combination of the words “Information” and “Performance”.

We use this platform specifically to give voice to the journey on the process of creating, the process of training, and the process of performance.

“FYI-Informance” is about showcasing artistry without the distractions of elaborate costumes. FYInformance is not about spectacle and costumes. Students will present in their dance uniform brining in focus, the person, their talent, and their inner landscape vs. external factors of costumes. We feel this is an integral component to share with our audience. Ultimately, the journey towards a year-end production is quite an arduous and challenging task. In the end however, it is always a rewarding experience for both teachers and students.

NIA student body comes together to present varied performance ranging in drama; various dance techniques, musical theatre and vocals to parent’s friends and families on Saturday May 28, at 5pm and 7pm and again on Sunday May 29, at 5pm and 7pm, at NIA located at the John Larmonie Center.

We encourage you to buy ticket early, as seating is limited. Each ticket purchased makes you eligible to win a raffle to any WINAIR destination. Tickets for the FYInformance are on sale at NIA located at the John Larmonie Center. Please call 1-721-543-0600 or email This email address is being protected from spambots.
