DEN HAAG:--- The news of the arrest of Member of Parliament Frans Richardson has the attention of Prime Minister Leona Romeo-Marlin; she stated, “It is regrettable that as a young country we find ourselves in this situation once again, where the integrity of the highest body (Parliament) is being tested. However, I have confidence in our Country’s legal system and am convinced that the truth will eventually emerge from the investigations by the Justice Department”.
The Prime Minister urges persons in the community not to rush to judgment, as this case is still under investigation. “As Prime Minister, I stand for the rule of law and I believe the legal process must run its course”, she said while on her working visit to the Netherlands and Belgium.
