THE HAGUE/ PHILIPSBURG:---The Public Prosecutor has requested a life sentence for the main suspect in the MARS investigation K.F. (41). K.F. is accused of killing two men in a Simpson Bay Resort hotel room on December 5, 2016.
In support of the requested sentence, the Public Prosecutor stated that based on evidence it can be concluded that the accused robbed the victims after killing them and then dumped their bodies in the lagoon near Belair.
Further K.F. is a suspect in the SWORDFISH investigation, in which K.F. is accused of escaping detention during a visit to the Sint Maarten Medical Center on February 15, 2016. At that time the suspect was serving a 21-year prison sentence for a murder committed in 2006. K.F. was rearrested in St. Kitts on July 29, 2017.
The trial took place today, March 1, 2019, in the Netherlands, where K.F. is being detained because of safety reasons.
Codefendants T.J.F. (29) and K.K.K.S. (33) will be tried on Sint Maarten on May 15 and 16, 2019.
