USA Today: Sint Maarten one of the destinations for a summer vacation.

stuartj22032019POND ISLAND:--- Destination Sint Maarten is once again profiled in a major U.S. media publication, the USA Today as one of the top destinations for summer vacation this year.
In its Travel Section of April 18, the USA Today magazine highlighted St. Maarten as a key Summer Vacation destination.
Written by Rick Seaney, Chief Executive Officer of FareCompare.com who is an airline industry insider and top media air travel resource, the article outlines some benefits of Caribbean travel which includes the ease of getting on a plane “that makes me feel like adventure is just around the corner.”
Seaney also noted, “The good news is, the adventure doesn't have to cost a lot of money. Here are some wonderful destinations for cheap summer adventures, plus other ways to cut your vacation costs."
The feature offers advice on ‘Best time to fly’ followed by the ‘Top 10 destinations for summer 2019, according to AAA.’
The USA Today article says that the destination features reasonable prices from several U.S. departure cities in June.
Minister of Tourism & Economic Affairs Stuart Johnson on Thursday said that this publication was welcome news for tourism and hospitality stakeholders.
“The St. Maarten Tourism Bureau is working to quickly finalize plans with our private sector partners to promote summer packages which will further increase visitor arrivals.
"Despite our challenges, this news shows that the hard work of all stakeholders to get the destination up and running post-Irma is paying off."
"The return of several airlines and the addition of new routes has resulted in competitive pricing for airlifts in and out of St. Maarten.”
“The rise in air traffic activity in recent months has been further complemented by the Ministry of TEATT's continued promotion of the developments on the island such as the reopening of various properties.
“The resilience of restaurant owners, guesthouses, hotels, dive sector, marine community, and the ancillary hospitality and tourism amenities sector, has all contributed to our country bouncing back quickly.
“I take my hat off to all of them for the all-out effort placed in getting our destination Sint Maarten/St. Martin back on the map and the only way forward is continuing to rebuild back better which we are currently doing," Minister of Tourism & Economic Affairs Stuart Johnson said on Thursday.
