PHILIPSBURG:--- The Rotary Club Mid Isle recently donated four sewing machines in support of the Faraja Daycare program at the Mental Health Foundation (MHF). Daycare coordinator Giselle Codrington stated,” The donation comes at the right time as we currently have 2- 3 clients sharing a single machine due to the increase of participants. A number of seamstresses have also volunteered their time on Thursdays and now having the adequate amount of machines will allow each client to be trained on a single machine.”
MHF executive assistant Cyrille Brooks thanked Rotary Club Mid Isle President Denise Antrobus for the contributing the machines to MHF clients whose lives he believes will be enhanced by offering them a creative means to move forward. “One of the things MHF tries to do is create linkages. Through our relationship with The Rotary Club Mid Isle these sewing machines will ensure that our clients learn new skills, build self confidence and become employed therefore contributing to their own livelihood.”
