PHILIPSBURG(DCOMM):--- Based on assessments of the current road network carried out by Ministry VROMI, all roads and intersections are clear at this point in time and is safe for motorised traffic.
The road closure in the Zagersgut area from the gas station to the Adventist Church has been lifted and the road is open.
Ministry VROMI however, advises motorists to continue to drive with caution on the road network and to be aware of street flooding during any heavy rain shower event; avoid any flooded areas or flood prone areas in the event of any rainfall; those driving along hillsides should drive with caution and beware of rock-falls and possible land-slides.
According to the Meteorological Department of Sint Maarten (MDS) 12.00PM weather update, a heavy rainfall advisory is in effect until Monday at 6.00PM.
MDS further states that scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms would continue Monday afternoon through tonight.
