PHILIPSBURG:--- The Department of Civil Aviation, Shipping and Maritime Affairs would hereby like to inform the public that the UAS consultation meeting scheduled for March 27, 2020 is cancelled until further notice. It was decided to cancel the meeting out of an abundance of caution.
Another factor in the decision to cancel the meeting was that our Dutch colleagues that were to present at the meeting are prevented from travel to Sint Maarten because of travel restrictions imposed by their Ministry as well as the Government of Sint Maarten.
We request that persons, industry stakeholders and other government departments that were interested in attending the meeting continue to review the draft regulations and forward us their questions and concerns. We will review all comments and suggestions, some of which will be addressed when the meeting is rescheduled.
We thank you for your cooperation and understanding. Our hope is that we will be able to reschedule this public consultation meeting sometime later this year.
