Division and Segregation by new European Dutch Political Party.

In the Today Newspaper of Wednesday, November 4, 2015 there is an article that is entitled: EUROPEAN DUTCH RESIDENTS FORM NEW POLITICAL PARTY.
This article has me and should have you a bit concerned and make you more alert of what is taking place in St. Maarten. Political Parties today no longer are looking at the Vision that is created to foster a better St. Maarten. Without a vision our people will perish as the bible says. Rather these European Dutch people are looking at the numbers in the voting registry and starting now to play a race card which we should be very careful about in order to avoid segregation in St. Maarten. Remember the apartheid in South Africa which the Dutch created. Here we have European Dutch people that are not happy with the way that St. Maarten is being governed and have now decided to form a Political Party, according to the Daily Herald, that wants to run and sit in office by looking at the amount of European voters that are registered in the Voting Registry believing that they could muster their 1500 compatriots registered in the Voting Registry to be able to get into office. However we haven't heard anything about what they would do for the St. Maarten people or what is their vision other than that they are fed up with the political chaos on the island. For all of us a clear vision should be the most important issue and not trying to get into office by influencing your compatriots to support your party, because then you are opening a Pandora box for other Nations to do the same. Every nation residing on St. Maarten would then want to form a party with persons from their country and just look at the amount of voters that they have in the voter's registry to be able to secure a seat or more with the support of their own people. This race card should not be a factor, fellow St. Martiners. Think on Trinidad and Guyana. Just remember we must know history because it has a tendency to repeat itself. When St. Martiners say that they should be first in their own country most people try to make that an issue of dividing people but then I should ask you what does this article refers to. Is it not the same division and segregation? Let us not start this practice because then we will be truly destroying St. Martin the friendly Island. We must build our nation together and not pull persons from different countries apart. I believe if Immigrants that have come to our country for a better life and feels that St. Maarten is not working out for them just like how it didn't work out for them in their own country, then they should do the honorable thing by returning to their country of origin to help build that country in order to have less people leaving their country to go elsewhere looking for greener pastures. I love the entire population of St. Maarten whether St. Martiner or immigrant. But I just had to speak my mind out loud about this article. This is just food for thought. Have a blessed day and let's pray that St. Maarten will indeed live on.
