Ministry of Labor held Recognition Ceremony for businesses.

labourministryrecognitionceremonyforbusinesses02122012Great Bay:--- The Ministry of Public Health, Social Development & Labor held a Recognition Ceremony on the 26th November, 2012 to commemorate their partnership with the Private Sector in regards to the SEI project Employability through Training. The goal of the project "Employability through Training" is to assist unskilled unemployed individuals to acquire basic work related skills and knowledge to help bridge the distance between them and suitable employment within the local labor market by offering specialized training and internship opportunities. The project started last quarter 2011 and now has four groups of SEI participants consisting of 51 students and 20 well established businesses on board. Ms. Jonaika Romney and Mr. Kazembe Hickinson was two participants that received an employment contract through this SEI initiative. The two companies that were presented a special award for employing these SEI participants were respectively Budget Marine, represented by Mr. Bas de Rooij & St. Maarten 12 Metre Challenge, represented by Mr. Collin Percy and Christopher Tipping.
