Philipsburg:--- On December 11th, 2012 the Police Department represented by Commissioner Carl John and the Community Police Officers held a meeting with representatives/owners of several nightclubs on the Dutch side of the island. The clubs that were represented were Bliss, La Bamba, Under the Sun, Son Latino, Francis Bar, Roof Top, and High-up Club. During this meeting the following points were discussed:
- Mandatory identification control.
- Using and selling of drugs in and around these establishments.
- The selling of alcoholic beverages to minors
- Complaints concerning loud music.
- Strict adherence to closing times.
These discussions were very informative and various agreements were made in regard to these points of discussion and a new working relationship was established. Future discussions with these clubs along with bar, restaurant, and adult entertainment establishment owners will be planned.
