MPs Getting Jittery, Bank Accounts being monitored --- At Least Four MPs under the Microscope.

Philipsburg:--- Executives from the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) visited Parliament last week and asked at least four Members of Parliament to fill out certain documentations that would entail how they acquired their funds.

SMN News has been reliably informed by well placed sources that Landsrecherché visited the bank to inquire about the accounts of certain Members of Parliament whom they believe have been making deals and acquiring huge amounts of monies based on the deals they made. One of the sources said that the former Managing Director of RBC former RBTT who was very close with certain politicians used loopholes to have the Members of Parliament deposit huge sums of monies without informing the bank how they acquired the funds.

Normally the banks on St. Maarten have to report all unusual transactions to the MOT but since the department is not fully functional, the transactions that were done at RBC Bank were not reported especially since the former Managing Director of the Bank found loopholes to have the monies deposited.

SMN News learnt that a certain Member of Parliament was caught on tape accepting a huge bribe for favors he is yet to deliver. The source said that since the fall of the UP/DP Government the tape was willfully circulated.

SMN News tried to confirm the information with the relevant authorities but they have refused to comment on the matter.
