Marigot:--- The Louis Constant Fleming hospital on the French side of St. Martin recently opened a brand new wing for psychiatric care. The SVP-CN (Stichting Verslavingszorg en Psychiatrie Caribisch Nederland) for the BES Islands has a care agreement for psychiatric care with the Mental Health Foundation on St. Maarten and in relation to that the initiative was taken to meet and discuss cooperation opportunities.
Dr. Roland Toussaint Director of the Hospital and Psychiatrist Grau-Espel Françoise explained how they work on the French side to Eric Jansen director SVP-CN, Kenneth Cuvalay Social Psychiatric Nurse for Saba and St. Eustatius as well as to the Psychiatrist Sachin Gandotra and Jatinder Kaur, including the Director of MHF Eileen Healy.
Possibilities such as EEG (Electro Encephalogram) and other tests can be done in the hospital.
Agreed is that the group would maintain contact with each other and further develop cooperation options. The group toured the impressive new facilities and met with the staff of the psychiatric ward of the hospital.
