PHILIPSBURG:--- The organizers of the "Zouk Kompas Bouyon Fest" stated we're teaming up with Sunny Foods on Illidge Road for a super ticket promo. The hottest zouk event of this year is scheduled for Saturday April 20th in Festival Village and the organizers are granting the public One last opportunity to get their tickets at super price of US$ 20.
"We're doing this for one day only and only for the limited amount of tickets. These tickets will be made available via our partnership with Sunny Foods," the organizers have announced.
The promo will be held on Saturday April 13th only at St. Maarten's favorite supermarket, Sunny Food. "Tickets are in limited supply, so first come, first served. When they are sold that's it," the organizers said.
"We're pretty sure that that these tickets will go in a matter of a few hours, so come early and get yours"
The "Zouk Kompas Bouyon Fest" will feature an impressive line-up of headliners in three genres of music: the legendary complete Zouk band Kassav, the definitive kings of Konpas CARIMI and the undisputed Prince of Bouyon music, young sensation Asa Banton.
The show is definitely a must-do during this year's Carnival season, they say. "The three acts are sure to bring an explosive night of musical entertainment."
Formed in 1979, Kassav' was the leading band to emerge from the formative years of zouk. Most authors credit Décimus, his brother Georges, the band's bassist and Desvarieux as its inventors. Their first album, Love and Ka Dance (1980), established the new sound of zouk, a Parisian concoction unlike anything else, island-based or otherwise to come onto the global scene. The band gained popularity in their much-heralded live performances in Paris's Club Zenith and toured widely.
Kassav' continued to gain popularity both as a group and by several members' solo recordings, eventually peaking in 1985 with Yélélé, which featured the international hit "Zouk la sé sèl médikaman nou ni" (meaning "Zouk is the only medicine we have" in French Antillean Creole).
Receiving accolades from the International music scene, including Best Album Of The Year, Carimi has risen to the top of the charts across Billboards best in Haiti, Guadeloupe, Paris, French Guyana, Canada and parts of Europe.
The music industry is now ready to acknowledge the world's best Haitian Kompa band to ever come out of Haiti and has been openly welcomed by music lovers even those who do not like much Kompa genre. After 10 years, Carimi Band is not just popular but have become a music icon in the country of Haiti representing the Kompas genre of music throughout the world.
Asa Banton is blowing up all over the world and fast becoming the Prince of Bouyon music. ASA first appeared with Jah Crew from grand Bay Dominica. The "tell it like it is" child of Grandbay exploded in 2009 with the hit "Grandbay", following up with many other hits like "Spray D Bagon Kill D Cockroach."
