Cul de Sac:--- This coming Sunday April 21st the Final of the Ford Big Bash T20 cricket tournament will be held at the Caribe Lumber Ballpark, starting at 2pm. The final is a clash between the two top teams of St. Maarten,
NAGICO Cricket Club takes on WINAIR Conquerors. Both teams are star studded with many local talented stars such as Stephen Evans, Romain Doodnauth, and Lerry Baptiste. Overseas stars such as Shane Burton, Merlin Liburd, and Adelvin Phillips will also be showing off their talents. All with the ultimate goal, to become the first Ford Big Bash T20 Cricket Champions, a tournament sponsored by Caribbean Auto.
Six teams participated and 23 matches were played in this well organized tournament sponsored by Caribbean Auto. The Ford Big Bash T20 cricket tournament was a great success not only because of the numbers of teams and talented players participating, but also because of the standard of the games played. The games were very well led by the members of the corps of umpires of the St. Maarten Umpires Association. The local top teams dearly wanted to win this first spectacular Ford Big Bash T20 tournament and some teams secured the participation of overseas talents to increase their chances of success.
NAGICO Cricket Clubs was the only undefeated team, and for many they are the favorites to win the Ford Big Bash T20 tournament. The others competing teams pushed the NAGICO team continuously and they needed to call on all their talents to ensure victory each time. WINAIR Concorerors reached the final by beating MNO Spartanz last week Sunday and are certainly motivated to prove everyone wrong by beating NAGICO in this Sunday's final.
