Shootout Continued in French Quarter --- Car Sprayed with Bullets.

French Quarter:--- The Gendarmes arrested several persons on Tuesday and Wednesday that are currently in garde à vue, confirmed Captain of the Gendarmerie Sylvain Jouault on Wednesday. Jouault said he could not release any information on the investigation which started on Tuesday. Up to late Wednesday evening, several witnesses and the owners of the home where the shooting took place were being heard by the gendarmes.

SMN News learnt that someone went into a yard opposite the Miracle Revival Church in French Quarter and began spraying bullets on a red car that was parked in the yard. Christophe Mac Quilkin told SMN News that shortly before 9am on Wednesday morning he was riding a motorcycle on French Quarter main road (RN7) when two men, one of them looking like a "Rasta", in blue or grayish Nissan blocked him on the road. Mac Quilkin said that when the car stopped the person sitting in the passenger side of vehicle opened the vehicle door and pointed a gun at him. "When I saw that I rode away at high speed to save my life. I kept riding straight along the main road as I tried to escape the attackers who were closely behind me. I then turned into a dirt road next to the Barry's residence as I ran for my life."

The owner of the home said they were at home when they heard several gunshots, she said when she heard the shots she did not know it was gunshots, she thought it was something happened to Mac Quilkin who is always in her yard fixing motorcycles with her son. The home owner said she was inside her kitchen when she heard the noise so she decided to go outside to inquire. "When I looked outside I saw a Rasta looking man with a shotgun in his hand and he had already fired a number of shots at my son's car, a red Getz that was parked inside the yard. I heard him saying something that the person/persons thought they would get away. I was so confused because I did not know what was going on and why this person chose to fire shots at my son's car. At the time my son was still sleeping," the woman explained. At the time of the shooting, there was also an elderly woman who lives in one of the homes nearby washing clothes in the back of the yard. The elderly woman told SMN News that she did not even know what was going on in front of her yard, she said she could have been shot by stray bullets but luckily no one in her family was injured.
Several gendarmes and officers from the forensic department visited the scene to investigate what appeared to be a continuation of a shooting that took place Monday night leaving two persons injured. "It appears as though relatives of the two injured persons are taking revenge," said one resident.

SMN News reported on Tuesday that two persons, a male and female, were shot inside their apartment by a lone gunman. The two injured persons were air evacuated to Martinique for further medical treatment. Residents of French Quarter who spoke to SMN News reporter on the condition of anonymity said that the shooting sparked from a drug deal that did not end well. However, law enforcement has refused to comment on the case. After the shooting Monday night, someone followed the attacker who they believe shot the couple and he too got injured while his vehicle was set alight.

On Wednesday evening, residents in French Quarter said that some people living "Around the Pond" attacked a young man known in the area as "Six" and the attacker shot him in his leg and then they burnt his car which is a red Toyota Corolla.
