Rotary Club of St. Martin Sunrise and St. Maarten Vocational Training School sign MOU for breakfast program.

rotarysxmsunrisesigningmouforbreakfastprogramatsxmvocationaltrainingschool06112013PHILIPSBURG:--- Rotary Club of St. Martin Sunrise and St. Maarten Vocational Training School sign MOU for breakfast program for the school year November 2013 to June 2014.

The school breakfast program is one of the most important programs run by Rotary Sunrise; it was piloted in 2012 with 2 primary schools in response to the growing awareness that there were students going to school most days without eating breakfast. To date the Club has signed four MOU's insuring that children who are from less affluent backgrounds in our community are provided with a healthy breakfast.

With the identification of some 60 students by the school counselor, Rotary Sunrise wants to ensure that all students have an equal opportunity to receive a wholesome, nutritious breakfast on a regular basis. The School Breakfast Program is geared towards improving the social and educational needs of our children. The program evaluated on a quarterly basis. The purpose of the evaluation is to assess the impact on the students, as well as to identify aspects of the program that are working well or that may require improvement.

We at Rotary Sunrise take this opportunity to once more thank our corporate sponsors for their continued support, without you we could not have made this breakfast program possible

A special thanks to Firgos Paper for donating over 3500 Hot and Cold cups towards the program.

As we continue to assist where it's necessary; we are calling on the business community and persons who are interested in making a difference to assist with sponsoring a school breakfast program. We can be contacted at the Rotary Club of St. Martin Sunrise; we meet at Air Lekkerbek Restaurant every Tuesday mornings at 7:00am for fellowship and breakfast.
