St. Maarten Customs seized 153 Kilos of Cocaine at PJIAE --- Illegal Drugs Found in boxes that came from Curacao.

SIMPSON BAY:--- On Thursday, November 14th 2013, Customs Officers at Princess Juliana International Airport checked passengers coming from Curacao. After this was done they continued with their daily operations by checking the cargo from the same flight.

During their routine control, several boxes looked suspicious so they decided to open one of the boxes. After opening one of these boxes the Custom Officers found out that it contained cocaine with a total weight of 153 kilos.

Due to the ongoing investigations, further information cannot be released at this moment.

Due to the fact Customs got more personnel in the last year, they extended their daily operations by checking more flights and cargo. The harbour and the lagoons will also get special attention now that the high season is starting. Additionally, Custom Officers will be more visible on the streets.
