PHILIPSBURG:---Today is Labor Day. A day to celebrate the fact that we have a job but also to pledge to find ways to secure employment for all who are capable within out society. Those with jobs, professions and vocations must show gratitude for that blessing in the way we execute them, we must do so with integrity, respect and compassion for others.
Those that are actively seeking employment, please register at our Labour department so that we as a country are aware of the actual numbers and can plan accordingly.

Those in charge of immigration need to understand that there must be control in the management of our immigrants as it has direct effect on the local residents' ability to find work, on our school systems, health care systems, housing as well as crime.
Sometimes we have to take jobs that are technically beneath us just to be able to survive. As Soualigans we have pride and should be willing to work for less rather than take a hand out from social welfare.
God helps those who helps themselves.
Let's pledge to step up, respect and work hard to secure jobs and job opportunities for the unemployed as well as improve working conditions for all who work below such.
Attention must also be given to working conditions of single parents, maternity and paternity leave and equal work for equal pay (gender equality).
