Simpson Bay:--- St. Maarten Marine Trade Association (SMMTA) held their annual general meeting on Thursday, May 21st, 2015 at the Fat Turtle Bar and Restaurant located at the Yacht Club at Isle de Sol.
All members were briefed on major events that took place during the year and the board addressed all concerns and questions voiced by the members present.
Also during the meeting the resignation of Lorraine Talmi and Robbie Ferron was announced. The SMMTA extended their gratitude of all their hard work over the years in service on the board. The board members will be replaced by James Richardson (OSSEM Solutions) and Christopher Marshall (Budget Marine).
The Board members returning this term are as follows; Valeska Luckert (Palapa Marina), Jesse Peterson (Yacht Club Port de Plaisance), Garth Steyn (Aqua Mania Adventures) and Michael Ferrier (NAPA Auto, Truck & Marine Parts). Brian Deher (IGY Marinas) has been reelected as President for the year 2016. This will be his fifth term as President.
The Board also wanted to remind all members of the first annual SMMTA Sports Challenge, deemed Compete, Meet & Eat. The event will be held on June 20th, 2015.
