No arrests made in the ongoing investigation.
PHILIPSBURG:--- A close relative of shooting victim Eddy Zinhagel who was shot early Friday morning in front of his Belvedere home is in stable condition. The relative said told SMN News that her relative was shot by an unknown gun-man in front of his Belvedere home as he was about to take his 3-year old child to school. The relative told SMN news that the child was already in his father’s vehicle when a number of gunshots were fired, however the child was not injured. SMN News learnt on Friday that Zinhagel was shot on his left chest.
The relative said that Eddy Zinhagel was in prison some two years ago, “the last time the victim was in prison was two years ago and I don’t consider that to be recent.” Asked how many times Zinhagel was incarcerated the relative said she did not know. Asked if they knew who the gunman was the relative said they did not know and further to that she said the gunman did not run through anyone of the neighbor’s home. As a matter of fact she claimed there were no eye-witnesses and that neighbors were just peeping through their windows when they heard the gunshots.
Press Prosecutor Karola Van Nie confirmed the victim is still alive but she has no specific updates on the victim’s medical condition. Van Nie also said that no arrests have been made in the shooting of Eddy Zinhagel.
