KPSM got 10 temporary detectives to assist in curbing crime spree.

peterdewitte06082014PHILIPSBURG:--- The Police Force of St. Maarten KPSM managed to obtain ten detectives to assist the country in curbing the current crime spree.
Former Chief of Police Peter de Witte made the request few weeks ago when a young man was murdered during broad day light hours in Simpson Bay. After the execution style shooting took place on St. Maarten. De Witte requested the assistance through Minister of Justice Dennis Richardson to assist KPSM with investigating armed robberies and murders.
Assistance were requested from Aruba who sent two detectives to St. Maarten, Curacao also sent two from their country, three were obtained from the RST and three from the Marechaussee.
While KPSM lacks human resources, and materials the ten detectives that were lone to KPSM will be assisting the police force with trying to solve the recent murders and armed robberies.
Former Chief of Police Peter de Witte said St. Maarten got the assistance from its sister countries for a period of two months. The only agency that lone their officers for a bit shorter period is the RST, De Witte said.
