EXCLUSIVE: Audit Committee of GEBE wants to dissolve Internal Auditor department.

One member of the Supervisory Board accused of sexual harassment by Internal Auditor and complaint filed against second member of the committee for aggression and threat.

PHILIPSBURG:--- Fireworks seem to be sparking at government owned company GEBE as members of the Supervisory Board who was asked to resign from their positions have decided that they will victimize and or get rid of certain employees that are close to members of the Council of Ministers.
According to information reaching SMN News a member of the Supervisory Board allegedly “touched the breast” of GEBE internal auditor in a way to sexually harass her.
Sources at GEBE said the internal auditor lodged a complaint against the supervisory board member who is now head of the audit committee with the chairman of the board Rene Richardson and also lodged a complaint with the Prime Minister William Marlin against the supervisory board member who allegedly sexually harassed her, the internal auditor Sharine Daniel also filed a complaint with the police department against another member of the supervisory board for alleged aggression, threat and intimidation.
SMN News learnt that since the audit committee has an axe to grind with GEBE internal auditor they have decided to eliminate the department now that the senior employee who is on contract is supposed to become a permanent staff of GEBE.
SMN News further learnt that the chairman of the board Rene Richardson is not in favor of dissolving the audit department thus he asked the interim manager of the company Andrew Zaggers to seek legal advice especially since the aim is to get rid of an employee who basically saved the company thousands of dollars with the reports she submitted to the board on how the company’s monies and credit cards were misspent.
The source said that Richardson made it clear that he will not stand in cahoots with anyone who wants to victimize a good worker after it was made known that member of the board sexually harassed that worker.
SMN News tried to reach Rene Richardson for a comment by telephone but he could not be reached.
The government of St. Maarten is soon to receive the advice from the corporate governance council which will give government the green light to dissolve the Supervisory Board of GEBE.
