Sint Maarten Lions Club honors 101-yr old Anna Gumbs.

lionsannagumbs30092021PHILIPSBURG:--- The Sint Maarten Lions Club joins with the entire community in congratulating all seniors today, October 1st, 2021 on the celebration of the International Day of Older Persons.

As one of the planned activities for Seniors Appreciation month being observed by the Sint Maarten Lions Club, members paid tribute to one of the island’s oldest citizens, Ms. Anna Gumbs.

Ms. Gumbs, a resident of the White and Yellow Cross Foundation is 101 years old. She was greeted by members of the Club with balloons, flowers, gifts, and a fruit basket containing her favorite fruits.

Among the group of Lions well-wishers was the District Governor, District 60B, Lion Claudio Buncamper PMJF, the Sint Maarten Lions Club President Lion Linette A. Gibs and Zone ChaIrperson, Zone 2B, Lion Alphons Gumbs MJF, who is also the Immediate Past President of the Club.

The centenarian was unable to say much but her smiles and overall demeanor reflected her deep appreciation of the gesture from the Lions Club.

The family of Ms. Gumbs and nurses at the White and Yellow Cross Foundation expressed heartfelt gratitude for this act of service.

The Sint Maarten Lions Club takes this opportunity to recognize and thank all our seniors for their significant contribution to the development of our island.
