This first eight weeks course for 2022 , will start on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, and end on July 13, 2022. The Sint Maarten Library staff will facilitates the classes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from nine o’clock until noon. The location will be at the Reading Rainbow Playschool.
We all experience a fast growth of digitization in the civic community. Banks offer online banking, SZV offers a My Portal, and appointments with the government service center need to be scheduled online. As a senior, you need to keep up with these developments. This experience will also help seniors ( age 60 and up) to get access to the Philipsburg Jubilee digital library, so that they do not leave their home to borrow and read exciting e-books.
The first four weeks of the course will focus on basic skills such as how to navigate the computer. After that, our trainers will guide you on using the internet properly. Time will be spent on applications, such as word and excel.
Admission can be made via telephone or by visiting the Sint Maarten Library. We advise seniors to come with their personal laptops and ensure that there is internet at home so that they can practice at home.
The courses are free, but we recommend a library membership. The maximum number of participants currently is ten. Seniors that already participated in the senior cyber classes before will be contacted to let them know when the advance classes will be scheduled.
